January 5, 2020: Rail Trail, Jericho Forest, Sunday Woods

The Concord Road bridge over the Rail Trail

Mark next year's calendar for the Weston Forest and Trail Association’s next monthly trail walk on Sunday, January 5th, 2020. It will include part of the newly paved Rail Trail as well as a walk into Jericho Town Forest and Sunday Woods. The walk will begin at 2:00 PM and will last about an hour. We will meet at the Concord Road Rail Trail entrance, near the beginning of Laxfield Road. Parking is available by the north and south spurs of the Rail Trail, but it is limited, so carpool if possible.

We will begin by walking west down the Mass Central Rail Trail. We will return via Jericho Town Forest and Sunday Woods, one of the oldest and newest public forest areas in Weston, respectively. Snow and cold may slow us down, but it won’t deter us! Tailgate refreshments will be provided post-walk.

All ages are welcome, as well as well behaved dogs on leash. Walkers need not be Weston Forest & Trail Association members, but we encourage you to considering joining as dues support the maintenance of Weston's trails and open space. Trail maps of all Weston's conservation land may be purchased at the Conservation Commission at Town Hall, 11 Town House Road, Weston for $10. You many also download a map on your smart phone.
