WFTA Trail Walk - Ogilvie, Jan. 5, 2025, 2pm

Straight snowy trail with footprints leading through sunlit woods under clear sky. Tall trees cast long shadows on the thick, fresh snow.

To start the new year Chris Jylkka will lead us on a guided trail walk through Ogilvie Town Forest. We will start in Lincoln and walk in Weston’s largest and wildest forest. Park at the trailhead at the end of Stonehedge Road in Lincoln.

Our calendar of guided trail walks is scheduled for the first Sunday of each month from October to May. You can review the 2024–2025 Trail Walk Schedule online.

All ages are welcome, as are well behaved dogs on leash. Walkers need not be Weston Forest and Trail Association members, but we encourage you to consider joining us, as dues support the maintenance of Weston’s trails and open spaces. WFTA has been hosting Sunday Walks for over sixty years. Please check our home page for any last minute changes or developments. We hope to see you at Ogilvie!

Recap: December 8 Sears Land Walk

On December 8th, Diana Chaplin led a hearty group of kids, dogs and adults on tour of the old Sears Estate, including caroling at the old grass tennis court. A trip across streams, over hills and through time.

Adults, kids and dogs gathered atop Lee's Bridge.

Recap: December 21 Dawn Solstice Walk

Walkers at top of snowy Cat Rock with reddish sun rising, the view of the sunrise filtered through nearby trees.

Bundled up for a dawn hike on the shortest day of the year. Our destination was the top of Cat Rock. Slowed, but undeterred, by the new-fallen snow.
